3 days/3 nights (75 miles) $475/person
4 days/4 nights (90 miles) $645./person
(bike not included)
The trip includes food and drinks, two or three nights in our cozy new huts, one night at the exclusive Gateway Canyons Resort (double occupancy) with meals included and free shuttle service back to Fruita after the trip.
You'll meet at 7 a.m. for pre-trip orientation in Fruita before a scenic shuttle ride to the Tabeguache Trailhead. Your mountain biking adventure starts at the top of Nine-mile Hill. You'll navigate the rocky double track through a tight line of a pinion and juniper forest before dropping into Cactus Park. After a couple of big climbs and some canyon hopping you'll rest your bones at the Big D Hut.
After a good nights rest, start back on the Tabeguache Trail or try a single track option along a flowing creek and through the Ponderosa pines. The rest of the day will be spent making your way up the Uncompahgre Plateau and into the whispering aspens. Your final resting place for the day will be our “Bubbling Springs Hut”.
A 5-mile single track dive through the Blue Creek Canyon will wake you up for a great day of biking. Huge views of the LaSal Mountains wait for you as you wind your way down to the “Blue Creek Hut”. Enjoy some grilled burgers on the private ranch property sunk in a rocky canyon with the mountain tops peeking down at you.
“Earn your turns” is an apt description for the day. Start with a heart pounding 12-mile climb. After reaching the peak you'll stand once again on the rim of the Unaweep Canyon with a 3000 foot descent before your eyes. Cruise the final miles to the secluded Gateway Canyons Resort where the friendly staff will take over and you can begin telling stories about your Colorado mountain biking adventure.
Enjoy the day at Gateway Canyons. Take advantage of the new single track loop trails or spend a lazy day floating the Dolores River. A free shuttle will take you back to Fruita at 4 p.m.
